Description

Let's preface this by saying this design is for AnyaBoz contest. Super excited, I don't often participate in contests but this one I couldn't resist.

After 9 hours of work, I'm finally finished. (I think. unfortunately upon looking at other entries mine has a few similar traits to another person's. Unintentional and a bit disappointing but I digress.)

Meet Omen.
When Omen was born blind, he was said to have given his vision to the Gods at birth to see into the future, and not the present. As Omen grew, he became wise to his world, gathering trinkets as he traveled. Omen soon found a small young Morgul who wished to join him. He took the small male in and he quickly became a guide of sorts for Omen. Assisting him with certain things, such as binding his tail and making sure Omen doesn't walk off a cliff. Becoming a soothsayer of sorts, able to share is knowledge to the world. Omen is now in his elder years, having slowed down from his travels, he's now searching for a place to settle and live out his later years with his small friend. Perhaps find his companion a lady.

Omen is a very tall, very limber Morgul, quick on his feet and rather pacifist unless something instiagates a fight. He will then only defend himself.

In his travels he found himself with specific trinkets with spiritual value. Feathers stand for a freedom of spirit and soul to the divine powers.

Leather is an acceptance of things that cannot be controlled. A piece of every kill for garment or food is buried, given back to the earth for providing a meal.

Skulls are recollection of past deeds, used in meditation and acknowledge that others will give so Morgul's may live.

Cloth is found treasures, considered lucky and special as they are rare. Finding a scrap of cloth means good luck and fortune on further travels.

Teeth is a sign of strength, acceptance that though they may fight, nature has a way.

Last but not least, the bell upon Omen's tail is said to summon good spirits and drive away bad fortune to those who hear the ring. Tied tight to his tail he feels it's a cleansing of bad energy to ring it.

Traits Top to Bottom:
-Born completely blind.
-Missing right ear after a fight with a local predator. Managed to lose an ear but won in the end. Face was scared in the same fight. Missing right little finger due to same fight.
-Whole face (and tail and rest of the body) are peppered with white furs, indicating Omen's age.
-Left ear wrapped with a leather cord, two raven feathers hanging with two red beads connecting them together.
-Braided fur along back of neck, tied at the end with leather cording, decorated with two red beads.
-Tuft of hair tied with cording, same red beads, cardinal and peacock feather decorating neck.
-Small skull necklace, bluejay feathers wedge in the top of the skull. Leather cord running through the back of the skull and dotted with red beads.
-Left bicep wrapped in burnt orange cloth and leather armband.
-Claws are stained with dye, giving them the illusion of being painted.
-Red dots on chest are paint marks stained into fur from fingertips. A symbol of acceptance of inner spirit.
-Red dots on lower back are acceptance of weakness and strive to do more.
-Belt of teeth and skull are collected from travels, the skull is used in meditation. Loin cloth is Omen just being odd.
-Scars carved into pads are for each purifying Omen has done for another traveler. Omen has since moved from his pads to his tail, keeping it leather bound for protection.
-Thumb and pointer finger on right hand and pointer and middle finger on left hand are wrapped in cloth for luck.
-Back right leg is bandaged from recent injury.
-Tail wrapped in leather to protect purifying scars.
-End of tail tied with a bell, said to bring good spirits.
